The First Status Meetings with Stakeholders
In a significant move to enhance collaboration and streamline rehabilitation efforts, Drug Court has initiated a series of status meeting with key stakeholders. The initial meeting held on 11th December 2023 brought together representatives from National Drug Agency, Prosecutor General's Office, Maldives Police Service, Maldives Correctional Service and the Department of Juvenile Justice.
The primary objective of these sessions is to facilitate the exchange of crucial information and foster discussions on treatment-related issues. The overarching aim is to fortify the monitoring process and ensure prompt action in alignment with the rehabilitation orders issued by the Drug Court.
These meetings mark a pivotal step in strengthening the coordination among various agencies involved in the rehabilitation process. By creating a platform for open dialogue and information sharing, Drug Court aims to address challenges and explore collaborative solutions to further improve the effectiveness of the rehabilitation system.
The first meeting of this series sets the tone for ongoing efforts to establish a comprehensive and integrated approach to the treatment and rehabilitation of individuals under the jurisdiction of the Drug Court. As stakeholders work together to address pertinent issues, it is anticipated that these sessions will contribute significantly to the overall success of the rehabilitation initiatives undertaken by the Drug Court.
The series of status meetings reflects a commitment to proactive communication, ensuring that all stakeholders are aligned in their efforts to support individuals undergoing rehabilitation. Furthermore, it has also been decided that these meetings will be held twice every month.
